And in the News...

Hearts to serve!
HERITAGE ACADEMY made headlines by spending just one week collecting $1675 of change from couches, chairs, pockets, and car seats to donate to Compassion International for Haiti Earthquake Relief. Also, 191 pairs of shoes were collected and sent off to Soles for Souls. The children read the news and wanted to help as quickly as possible.

A Writing Program worth noting!
We knew that the Institute for Excellence in Writing Program was outstanding but had no idea what awards were awaiting our students.

Letters About Literature is a national reading and writing program and contest presented by the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress and by Target.

In 2009 out of 50,000 entrants two
HERITAGE ACADEMY students placed in the top 10 for the state of California. Timothy Canty placed 2nd and Lizzy Field placed 10th.

In 2010 out of 70,000 entrants, three
HERITAGE ACADEMY students (Marc Allen, Elaney Cheng and Emma Danford) were state semi-finalists, and Natalie Chen was a top ten finalist.
